DARE Edition Labs in 2015 sparked exciting collaborations between academics and performing arts organisations, for the first time, achieving a positive impact on the thinking and practice of all involved, and the development of inspired future projects.

SAA-uk is a centre of excellence set up in 1997 to preserve and facilitate the art of South Asian Classical music and dance through programmes of work that focus on Learning & Participation, Performance and Community Engagement.

Cap-a-Pie and Dr Lou Harvey

Brad McCormick Cap-a-PieDr Lou Harvey, Lecturer in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, partnered with Brad McCormick, Artistic Director and Katy Vanden, Producer, Cap-a-Pie

Since the creation of Cap-a-Pie in 1997 the company has been working in participatory contexts with communities and making professional work for audiences in the North East of England and beyond.

Opera North and Assoc. Professor Alan O’Leary

Opera North - pic - compressedOpera North is England’s national opera company in the North and one of Europe’s leading arts organisations. Based at Leeds Grand Theatre in Leeds, with a full-time chorus and orchestra, the Company tours its three-season mainstage programme to Nottingham, Salford and Newcastle, and engages in extensive education, concert and projects activity.  Opera North Projects produces small-scale touring shows, site specific performance and commissions, together with a rolling programme of artistic residencies. ‘Home’ is the Howard Assembly Room in Leeds, a captivating and flexible performance space whose public programme is curated by the Projects Department.
